Enameling II - Cloisonné
Cloisonné comes from the French word meaning compartments. Silver cloisonné wire is used to create a linear design on your piece. Enamel is then filled in around the wire work, layered and fired several times. The piece is then polished to a finish. In addition to learning this ancient technique, students will experiment with mixing colors and explore different ways of layering the enamels, which yields very interesting effects. At the end of the two-day workshop, each student will have created a beautiful, one of a kind pendant.
