Using at least two pieces of sheet metal in brass and/or copper, pierce out contrasting or complementary designs from each, to be layered on top of one another and soldered together. This versatile technique is known as sweat-soldering and can be utilized for endless diverse projects. There will be time to form, finish, texture and oxidize your piece, if desired, as well as form and solder a bail of your choice to attach to a cord or chain after class.
This is an intermediate metalsmithing class for
students who have a basic understanding of soldering.
Prior torch experience is required.
*All metalsmithing requires closed-toed shoes and hair to be tied back for safety.
